Why do Witnesses think they preach the "Good News"
by sabastious inthe "good news" is a heavy buzz term that any witness will need no elaboration to understand unquestionably.
it seems illogical, to me, for the witnesses to call their message the "good news.".
i used to go door to door with a message of "whatever you are doing right now is wrong and will get you killed unless you preach door to door like me.

What Did You Not Do Because You Were A Jehovah's Witness That You Wanted To Do?
by minimus ini didn't go to college and of course, "higher education" was never recommended.
still, i never felt terribly deprived because of not going further in my education.. yet, i did wish that i could've had "normal" aka "worldly friends".
i wish that as witnesses, we could've been better integrated with other people.

most of what "witness my fury" wrote i would agree with. particularly the first "I didn't enjoy life"

Real Jehovah's Witnesses (djeggnog, StandFirm, etc), I'm trying to understand you.
by pirata ini'm an active jehovah's witness.
i've obviously lost my faith, that's why i don't feel bad posting here anymore.
i'd probably be disfellowshipped as a division causing, teaching, apostate, faster than you can say "maher-shalal-hash-baz" (isaiah 8:1), should it be found out that i was posting here and did not repent of the things i've said and stop participating in this forum.

Maze.
Jehovah's Organization is the only organization that teaches the truth about the Bible as Jesus instructed.
Jehovah's organization has taught that the generation the Jesus spoke of was the generation of people that saw the events of 1914 and would not pass away. This was not truth.
Jehovah's organization has taught that Jesus presence began in 1874. This was not truth.
Jehovah's organization has taught that they have seen the "sign of the son of man." This was not truth.
However as JW you are to speak in agreement with these things. If you don't or you question them you will soon find out how loving the organization is.
I pointed out to an Elder that the organization had taught God's eternal purpose was tied to the 7th creative day starting in 4026 BCE. Which led to him talking about me in a bad way from the platform at the next meeting.
"All of Jehovah's Witnesses receive God's spirit when interpreting God's word. This is why the agree with the faithful and discreet slave's interpretation"
Maze are you saying that these false intrepetations from the organization are due to God's spirit?

Life after death
by truthseeker ineveryone has different views about life after death and whether or not it is a possibility.. as jehovah's witnesses, we were always taught that there is no life after death, that this is the only life we have now and that the wages of sin is death.. .
what are your views on life after death?.
.

Jehovah's witness meetings are NOT BORING......
by punkofnice in...i was told but they usually were as i look back.. as a lad i'd sit and look to see who the lights would fall on.
i'd get an almond and see how long i could suck it before i chewed at it.
i'd imagine playing rock'n'roll on the congregation's piano.. how did you get through the meetings when you were bored?.

The last days.
by MrFreeze inin matthew, jesus lines out all the signs of the last days.
he puts a stipulation on it saying that nobody will know the day or the hour.
does that not mean that nobody could know the last days as well?
-
The Finger
Do you think maybe Jesus meant that "as long as these types of things are occurring, be on the watch"?
yes i do. we should always b on the watch. who knows when they will draw their last breath. i dont think you get a second chance.

In the book, "God's "Eternal Purpose" Now Triumphing for Man's Good" (Published in 1974 Watchtower Bible & Tract Society)and studied at the bookstudy in the spring of 1975. Page 51. It states "Evening of Seventh Creative Day Begins, 4026 BCE.
On page 131 under the heading "Morning" of Seventh Creative Day begins, 526 BCE."
"The first half or "evening" period of God's seventh creative "day" was now closing, 3500 years from creation of Adam and Eve. The morning of this creative day was due to begin at 526 BCE."
I think the 1874 Presence of Christ idea that Russell believed was tied to the 6000 years from the creation of Adam.
